How we work with our customers
Strategic planning for Post Merger Integration (PMI)
Client: A global European firm specialising in construction materials
The challenge:
The firm merged with 4 local entities in Manila, Philippines. There was uncertainty about how to move ahead and extract the value identified in the pre-merger evaluation.
The solution:
We carried out a deep strategic enterprise analysis of the 4 firms examining 4 pillars: people, process, project portfolio, and technology infrastructure. For the 4 pillars gaps and overlaps were identified to remove redundancies.
Our team identified 5 streams of integration work and developed a portfolio for each one, post that we conducted 1 on 1 interviews with staff at all levels to get a current view on issues through a pulse check.
We then assisted in forming new ‘near-term’ goals and strategies to achieving them and develop change management actions plans and accountability was assigned to teams.
Conclusively, our team designed and conducted 24 workshops and 2 townhalls over 6 months to get the integration teams and all staff aligned around new strategy and goals.
The Impact:
Immediate saving of time and cost on overlaps identified in the 4 pillars. Teams were aligned around new goals and objectives and took accountability for results.
European parent firm’s SE Asian MD was happy with the new operating rhythm that was established through the workshops and the town halls and highly motivated cross functional teams.
